Legionella is a causative agent of Legionnaire’s disease that can potentially cause a fatal form of pneumonia. Within a water system Legionella usually grow within biofilm found on the insides of pipe work, shower heads, cooling tower packing, or water tanks.

A clean water sample does not equate to a clean system which is why this kit can be used to pinpoint the contamination in a system or to demonstrate cleanliness of an area after a targeted cleaning. This kit can be used to fund legionella in their breeding ground. It is a selective test that can detect legionella in samples with a very high flora background.
