Three dimensional (3D) spheroidal cell models have become the pillar of life science research to provide the best in vivo-like environment. The risk of accidental removal of spheroids (either by disruption of spheroids or removal of unattached spheroids) is significant when performing media exchanges and washes, which is why this process is so challenging.

The AMX has come to make that process much smoother. It is a new automated, peristaltic pump-based tool that allows these procedures to be carried out in a controlled, consistent and gentle manner that eliminates spheroid disruption and removal, simplifying long-term 3D experimental procedures.
